How I Research Medical Procedures Without Overwhelming Readers

Medical thrillers walk a tightrope: accuracy vs. readability.

My rule is simple: The reader should feel the truth without drowning in it.

Here’s how I balance it:

  • I research deeply, then write lightly

  • I use plain language unless technical terms matter

  • I reveal only the details that raise stakes or emotion

  • I let character reactions carry the weight

Readers don’t need a lecture — they need an experience.
